Glossary / Meta description

Meta description

The meta description is the short summary that can appear under your page title in search results.

Google does not always use it, but when it does, it is your ad. A clear sentence with your service and your city earns more clicks than a generic one.

It does not affect ranking directly. It affects whether people choose you from the list.

We carry your existing descriptions across in the match. You can edit them in place like any other text on the page.
