How to give feedback on your site with a voice note

You do not need to write an email or take a screenshot. Open the page, tap the key, and say what you see.

Why voice

Most owners review their site on a phone between jobs. Typing a paragraph of feedback on a phone is slow, so it does not happen. The note waits until evening, then until the weekend, then it is lost.

Talking is faster and clearer. You say what you would say if your project lead were standing next to you. Move that up. Use the other photo. That price is wrong. Thirty seconds of talking beats ten minutes of typing.

Find the key icon

Open your staging link or your live site. Look for a small key icon, usually in a corner of the page. It is deliberately quiet so visitors never notice it.

Tap the key. The page switches into edit mode. You can now click any text and change it in place, or you can record a voice note about anything on the page.

Visitors never see any of this. The key only responds to you and the people you have given access to. Your live site stays exactly as it was until a change is saved.

Say what you see, then what you want

The best voice notes follow one pattern. Name the row you are looking at, say what is wrong, then say what you want instead. That is all your project lead needs.

  • On the services row, the third card says drain cleaning. We stopped offering that. Remove it.
  • The hero photo is the old van. Use the one I sent last week with the new wrap.
  • The reviews row is good, but the map should sit above it.
  • The phone number in the footer is my old cell. It should be the office line.

What happens next

Your voice note attaches to the page you were on. Your named project lead hears it and makes the change. You do not need to explain which page or send a screenshot. The note already knows.

When the change is done, check it on the staging link. If it is not quite right, leave another note. Short loops beat long emails. Most notes get handled the same business day, and you hear back from a person, not a ticket.

When to type instead

If the change is a single word or a price, click the text and fix it yourself. Editing in place is part of the plan. There is no meter running when you fix a typo.

Use a voice note when the change involves a photo, a layout move, or something you cannot easily describe in a text box. Use it whenever typing would make you put it off.

A few habits that help

None of these are rules. They just make the loop faster.

  • One note per row. Several short notes are easier to act on than one long one.
  • Say the page name if it is not the homepage.
  • Say done when you are happy, so your lead knows the page is approved.
  • Do not worry about polish. Nobody hears it but your project lead.
